Michael asks…

How much money would you bring on a month’s all inclusive holiday to Italy?

It’s with a youth camp. Meals, admission fees, transport and accommodation are paid for.

I will need money for extra drinks, extra shopping, possibly clubbing, etc. How much would you bring if it were you?

(I’ll actually be putting it all on a credit card, but I want to estimate how much to save!)

Yaz answers:

Young people in Italy gain about 1000 euro per month at work…. Something like this ja?

Thomas asks…

how much money is ideal to take to venice?

im going on holiday end of august for a week to venice italy. im going with my grandma and boyfriend. the hotel is all inclusive with breakfast. would 200 euro be enough?

Yaz answers:

I was recently in Venice, which I found to be absolutely wonderful — and godawful expensive! For example, a can of Diet Coke in St. Mark’s Square was 12 Euros! Food is terribly expensive in all of the tourist areas, so a sandwich and a soda pop for lunch can easily run $25 Euros and more per person. Water is not provided, and costs about the same as a can of pop. Things are a bit less expensive the further you get from St. Mark’s, but not a whole lot less. If I were planning to return to Venice for a week any time soon, I would be taking at least 1000 Euros (about $1350 US), plus a major credit card, and with that would NOT plan on a “real restaurant” for any meal. Breakfast included with the hotel will be nice, of course, but not a lot of help with expenses. Shops and restaurants do NOT accept US dollars, by the way — only Euros or a major credit card.

One thing you should know — it costs money to get into a public restroom in Venice, so be sure you use the bathroom before you leave your hotel, and have Euro coins with you! The local banks do NOT cooperate in changing money, either from one currency to another or even to give you change for Euros. However, if you are by chance stopping for even just a soda pop at any of the cafes, they are required to allow you to use the restroom — if you have ordered food or drink, but not otherwise.

David asks…

where would you suggest a holiday at 16?

Me and my friends are planning on going away for the end of our GCSE’s next summer when most of us are 16, but the thing is we have no idea where to go and where would be good. We aren’t going with parents and would like to go somewhere in europe like greece or italy. We want somewhere where we can drink and go clubbing but isnt too expensive, maybe like an all inclusive deal?
any suggestions would be good as we want to plan this in advance

thanks xx
