Singles Holidays Over 50s

This trip is specially arranged for singles in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, allowing you to get the most out of this fabulous trip.

There is a real advantage in going on this Paris to French Riviera vacation, as opposed to going with regular tour packages.

For one, as a single person, you will not be charged a “singles supplement”, which you would normally have to pay in other travel packages, since they would base their prices on more than one person travelling together.

Secondly, being on vacation in the company of singles around your age group makes a huge difference to your enjoyment of your holiday. Having fun with like-minded people, exploring the sights and sounds, learning about the culture, history, and people, is made so much more enjoyable with great company.

What would already be a good vacation can become an amazing one.

Indeed, it is often the case that people go on these tour packages alone, but they end up making friends for life. Your experience is enhanced tremendously.

On the other hand, even if you are in a great vacation spot, like Paris, Nice, Bordeaux, Cannes, etc. being with the wrong company can spoil everything, or at least make it less memorable and exciting as it should be.

And for such an amazing tour, from Paris to the French Riviera, you really should do everything to maximize your enjoyment.

So if you are seriously thinking about going on a Paris to French Riviera vacation and you are single in your 30s, 40s, 50s, or 60s, you should seriously consider this amazing package.

You’ll be glad you did.

Costa Rica Eco Tours

There are great Costa Rica Eco Tours especially for singles in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s.

This holiday package is particularly for those singles who are a lot younger than their biological age would suggest. I’m sure you know so many people younger than you who just can’t keep up.

This not a “extreme” tour, however, but it is one where you get to explore the lush tropical rainforest and the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean coast, while also experiencing the sights and sounds of a booming and prosperous Latin American country.

Going on this tour especially organized for singles like you has many advantages. For one, you don’t have to pay an extra “singles supplement” because you don’t have a travel partner. Those supplements, which you would have to pay for on other tours, can increase the cost of your vacation significantly.

Also, on a specialized singles holiday package you have great company. That makes a world of difference when you are travelling on vacation. Bad company can ruin what would have been a great vacation, while great company can turn a good vacation into an excellent one.

Indeed, although most people come on these tours by themselves, they often leave having made friends for life.

No more singles holidays! No more singles vacations! No single supplements!

Greece Holiday Packages

If you are looking for Greece Holiday Packages for singles in your 30s, 40s, 50s, or 60s then this is the right place for you.

You can get amazing Greek Island Hopping Tours especially for singles like you, combined with a 3-night cruise.

You can spend 2 nights in Athens and visit the beautiful islands of the Aegean Sea, spend two nights in Mykonos, three nights crusing, and two nights in Santorini.

Going on a cruise specially catering for singles in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s has lots of advantages. For one, you don’t have to pay a “singles supplement” like you would if you travelled with other companies, who base their price on people travelling in couples, families or groups. These singles supplements can sometimes be significantly higher, almost doubling the cost of your vacation.

In addition, you get to spend your vacation with other singles like yourself, who have a zest for life, but are a little bit more grown up than the typical 18 to 35 year old crowd that many singles tours cater to.

Going on vacation with the right company makes all the difference in the world. Spending a holiday with great people turns a good vacation into a great one. It is very likely that you will make a new friend for life, as this happens quite often on these trips.

Cheap Restaurants in Paris

Find Cheap Restaurants in Paris Where You Can Eat Like a King

The best cheap restaurants in Paris cater to resident Parisiens, and not tourists. These are also the most authentic restaurants where you get to really enjoy the genuine Paris, off the beaten track.

When you search for cheap restaurants in Paris, in fact, you are not necessarily being “cheap”, but actually delving into the world of native Parisiens. You are also saving euros to spend to make your singles holiday in Paris the dream holiday you always wanted it to be.

With a great guide, you will not be duped by overpriced tourist fare that is served with a sort of condescension for the outsider whom they presume does not even know what pâté de foie gras is, let alone what a good one tastes like. At a high price to boot. That will not make your singles holiday in Paris an experience to remember fondly.

Parisiens love food. You see them eat food everywhere, in cafes, bistros, tea salons, wine bars, on the sidewalk. There are literally thousands of restaurants.

The popular tourist books will not give you the best cheap restaurants in Paris because they don’t even know them. What you need is an insider’s guide.

When you are on your singles holiday in Paris, you should not waste a single meal on bad food and exorbitant prices. Good cuisine is a national passion in France, and one of the greatest pleasures of a visit to Paris.

Of course, like any great world city, there is a cosmopolitan range of food: Chinese, Vietnamese, and North African most commonly, but also Italian, Greek, Lebanese, and Indian.

A good guide will not only show you the best cheap restaurants in Paris, but also guide you on the proper etiquette, the faux pas (i.e., what you definitely should not do), and the unique habits and culture that surround food and meals, which may be quite different from what you are used to.

For instance, meal times are roughly the same as in America. Lunch is served from noon to 2pm normally. Fixed price menus are common as well.

Dinner is usually served from 7:30 – 11:00pm (or 19:30 – 23:00, as they would have it), with the common starting time for most Parisiens being 8:30pm (20:30).

Cheap Restaurants in Paris

Parisiens do not rush their food. Dinner in particular is a social event, and you linger over your meal while engaged in social conversation. It is supposed to take hours.

Cheap Restaurants in Paris

There are little, special characteristics about Parisien restaurants. Many of the best cheap restaurants in Paris cater for a small number of people, between 15 to 40 persons. Seating can be intimate. Regulars may even have their cloth napkins reserved and kept for them in pigeon holes.

There is etiquette regarding tipping, speaking loudly, flirting, paying tax and tipping, appropriate dress. Also, “Anglo” habits such as “doggy bags” or separate checks are not well looked upon at all, especially at the restaurants which cater for locals and are not frequented by tourists.

A good guide to the best cheap restaurants in Paris will also teach you quick social skills such as how to read a French menu as well. You should also know the difference between basic types of Parisien restaurants, such as a brasserie and a bistro.

For instance, a brasserie is relaxed, more upscale type of restaurant which serves single dishes and other meals, has professional service, printed menus, and, traditionally, white linen. They are open every day of the week and serve the same menu all day.

A bistro, on the other hand, is a small restaurant which serves moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting. The food is usually the home-cooked type, robust and earthy. Slow-cooked foods like cassoulet are typical.

One of the best guides you can get to find the best cheap restaurants in Paris is by Adrian Leeds. Leeds is an American by birth but a Paris resident who has also written a book about buying property in Paris as well.

Leeds guides the visitor to Paris to simple, inconspicuous, out of the way places, which are reasonably priced, with great food. With her guidance, your singles holiday in Paris will be a much more memorable and authentic one.

I highly recommend her book. Why not look at vacation packages to Paris as well, and explore what there is to offer.

Things to do in Vietnam

Are you wondering about things to do in Vietnam? You may have booked a trip already or are perhaps considering visiting there on an upcoming vacation.

Lots of interesting things to do

Vietnam is an amazing place: a great mix of culture, cuisine, and relaxation, combined with an amazing history. The very distinctive intermingling of modernity and tradition, the great diversity of village and metropolis, mountains and beaches, rain forests and deserts, ancient ruins and stylish shopping malls ensure that there you won’t get bored of the many things to do in Vietnam.

The Old Quarter is a must-see in this respect. There you’ll see the legacy of the French who had controlled Vietnam for about 80 years before they left in 1954. The buildings and roads are very distinctive and French influenced. It is very lively, comprising nearly 40 streets. Each one is crammed with shops selling a variety of items, and the name of each street comes from the main good or service sold there. The French culture has become part of Vietnamese culture, for example, with baguettes being an ordinary staple in people’s daily eating habits.

Things To Do in Vietnam

Great Vietnamese Food

And we mustn’t leave the food aspect too quickly. Some people travel there specifically for it. Vietnam has some of the most unique and tasty food anywhere. It is a wonderful spicy mixture of Indian and Chinese cuisines, developed in its own way. Vietnamese food is becoming as popular as Thai food in places like New York or London or Paris, for example, and many other cities. For those that know it, there is a world of difference between the two. My own preference is definitely for Vietnamese Food.

One of the great things to do in Vietnam itself is to eat the fish at the Cha Ca La in Hanoi, which serves only one dish, a fish dish known as Cha Ca. You cook the dish at the table yourself, with pea shoots and noodles. Another is genuine Banh-Mi in Hoi An. It beats anything you can get outside of Vietnam.

Good Tourist Economy

Vietnam has a booming economy. It is located in one of the most dynamic economic regions in the world, with many interactions with Singapore, China, Japan, and Malaysia. It has recovered extremely well since the devastating war with the United States and earlier with France. The war ended over 30 years ago, and is definitely in the past, with relations between the US and Vietnam at an excellent level. (Ho Chi Minh City, however, does have a seedy bar called Apocalypse Now, which nevertheless has a hardcore clientele of expats and locals.)

Indeed, tourism is a vital part of the Vietnamese economy with 3.77 million visitors visiting every year. Tour operators, accordingly, are in the main well-experienced and organized, and it will be best to use the services of an experienced tour operator to get the most out of this diverse country.

South, Central, and North Regions

Vietnam is an “S” shaped country with three distinctive regions the South, Central, and North, each with its own characteristic attractions.

In the South, you can visit the Mekong River and its ferile delta which is the basis of its ancient rice-growing economy. One of the definite things to do in Vietnam is to take a boat trip here. There you will see the well-known floating markets of Cai Rang and Cai Be among others. Here, vendors will offer their wares from their boats jammed with produce, dangling their goods in the air from a long pole.

In Central Vietnam, you can find a wide range of environments, from plateaus, to beaches, to dunes, and to lagoons. This is where the ancient Imperial city of Hue is located. A definite item on your list of things to do here must include a cruise down the Perfume River and visiting to historic sights and monuments such as the Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, and the Palace of Supreme Peace.

Hoi An in Central Vietnam is a very interesting place as well. People come here for the reputation of its excellent tailors, its art galleries, and its narrow streets, which are populated by many tiny wooden cafes serving steaming coffee. The Chinese have an ancient presence here, through very old trading relationships that have continued unbroken (more or less) for centuries.

The north region has stunning apline-like peaks, along with plains regions. The Hmong people are a hill people from the Sapa region in north Vietnam, many of whom were resettled in the US during the Vietnam War. The north, as well, is where Hanoi is located, along with the picturesque Halong Bay.

Halong Bay is extremely beautiful and is designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. The most stunning aspect are the roughly 2,000 – 3,000 limestone cliff islands that dramatically jut out of the water. Different ones will have caves, vegetation, or secluded beaches.

To get to them you can take a cruise in a “Junk” which is the Chinese name for ship. Indeed, navigation in the South China Sea has been extremely well developed for centuries, with many of its ancient technologies are well ahead of the West for most of human history. The name “Junk”, however, obviously does not have positive connotations for Westerners! You certainly have nothing to worry about, though.

You can also go kayaking in Halong Bay as well. While common throughout the country, kayaking is perhaps best here.

Nature Lovers, Shopping, Nightlife

Indeed, for nature lovers or, eco-tourists as they are known these days, there is no shortage of things to do in Vietnam. Wildlife surveying is exceptional. The Highlands and the rain forests are breathtaking and serene. Vietnam’s islands and beaches are perhaps the best in South Asia.

Things to do in Vietnam also include shopping and nightlife. Bars and nightclubs in Ho Chin Minh City are plentiful. Nha Trang is known for its nightlife, too. Tour guides can give you thier views on the happening spots of the moment, but pools, Discos, bars, clubs are commonplace. Even in the far-flung and remote mountainous regions you will find the infamous Karaoke bars, which are so popular in that part of the world.

If you go shopping in the market, make sure to have a guide so you don’t get ripped off too much with the prices. In any case, prices are still relatively cheap in Vietnam, so depending on where you are coming from, it will still be a bargain.

Dong Xuan in Hanoi is the most famous market to visit, and should be on your list of things to do. There you can find embroidery clothes, silk clothing, and many other textiles (it is an ancient art there). There are also many street food stalls with amazing food.

Things To Do in VietnamOne of the most distinctive and memorable things about Vietnam is the sheer number of motorbikes. You should definitely try to write one when you run a period and put that on your list of things to do.

Quite different from motorcycles, and definitely more distinctive, is elephant riding. This is more common in Dalat at Tuyen Lake more than anywhere else. Make sure also to put that on your list of things to do in Vietnam if you get the chance.

Also, there is a special royal breed of horse unique to Vietnam, the Vietnamese Hmong Horse, which you should also take the opportunity to ride.

History Buffs

History lovers may be interested in the Vietnam War memorials and statues, like Hoa Lo prison (the “Hanoi Hilton” where John McCain was held prisoner) or the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, where the “Respected Uncle” Ho read the Vietnam Manifesto on 2 September 1945. There are always two guardmen dressed in white uniforms standing at the main entrance. Visitors also like to take with them Vietnam War Army watches and military clothing as souvenirs.

The Cu Chi Tunnels are also very popular. These were dug by the Viet Cong, and is basically an underground maze. It covers a mind-boggling 250km, and contains living quarters, command centres and ammunition stores. This must definitely be on the list of things to do in Vietnam for any war history buffs.

Ho Chi Minh has a War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace and the Revolution Museum.

For more ancient history, there are many tours you can take to see the old citadels, royal tombs, palaces and temples. Ho Chi Minh City is also well known for its very many temples and pagodas, which give a far more spiritual experience, as Buddhism is the dominant religion of Vietnam.

Best Things To Do in Vegas

Looking for the best things to do in Vegas? If you are planning to go on a singles vacation to Las Vegas for the first time, a tour would be the best option so that you don’t miss any important things, but you should have some idea of your own as to what people consider the best things to do in Vegas, and to see which options suit you best. Of course, your own list is going to depend on your tastes, your age, who you’re going with, and what particular stresses you’re trying to get away from!

Best Things To Do in Vegas

Bellagio Fountains

For many people the number one item on their list of the best things to do in Vegas is to check out the Bellagio fountains. This is essentially a giant, free show for all and it is a must-see. Basically it is an 8 1/2 acre lake – in the middle of the desert (not very eco-friendly, of course, but that is what Vegas is all about, for better or for worse!) – where 1,214 spritzers shoot streams of water 460 feet in the air from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM every half hour and from 8:00 PM to midnight every 15 minutes . The water is perfectly choreographed, dancing to Frank Sinatra or popular Broadway songs. I can sound a little gay, I guess, but you won’t feel so while enjoying it. It really is much more impressive than I can describe it – it is one of those things that physically overwhelm you with their sheer size and audacity.

Best Things To Do in Vegas

Another less-than-masculine-sounding attraction which is thoroughly enjoyable for even the manliest of men is the Cirque du Soleil. Even though they are Canadian, they have become true Vegas icons. Be prepared: tickets cost a lot about $165 and the show’s are about 3 hours long. But you’ll get a chance to see former Olympic gymnasts in funny outfits catapulting themselves to all over the stage in extremely dangerous choreographed stunts. The quality of the show is always high so you won’t be disappointed.

If you’re into dining out, Vegas can take all your money here, too, and make you love it while it’s happening. They have some of the best and most unique restaurants in America. You can get stunning Parisian meals, and a huge variety of brilliant steaks and red wine in amazing atmospheres. Try one of their amazing breakfast buffets. And to top it off, if you show up alone at an expensive restaurant in Vegas you will definitely leave with new friends and be making plans for the night.

The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is also considered one of the best things to in Vegas. Half of it is outdoors, half indoors, with stingrays, sea turtles, crocodile, lots of sharks and even a komodo dragon.

Of course when you’re in Vegas you have to go clubbing. Even if you don’t want to. Because even if you’ve “been there and done that”, you really need to have been there and done that in Vegas. The same goes for going to Downtown Vegas. Even if it’s not your scene, you have to do it.

To add to the decadent side, of which there is an abundance, in Vegas adult pool partying is topless. So be warned or be prepared. On the other hand, surprisingly, Vegas is also the best spa destination in America. It’s kind of weird to think about going to Vegas to relax, though.

Best Things To Do in Vegas

New York, New York Hotel, Las Vegas

Another thing on your best things to do in Vegas list should be the New York New, York roller coaster. It goes right through the New York, New York hotel and gives you a unique tour that beats walking any day.

Of course everyone’s list of the best things to do in Vegas is going to be different, and you might find a completely different list of best things. If you are thinking of going to Vegas with a group of 30s, 40s, 50s, and active 60s – to enjoy Vegas with people who were twentysomething in the great 1980s – the New Years Vegas Vacation package offered by Best Singles Travel is a real treat. It includes the Beatles Show, Hoover Dam, Siegfried & Roy’s Dolphin Habitat, the Las Vegas Mob Experience, the Stratosphere Tower Oobservation Deck, the Eiffel tower experience, the New York New York roller coaster, Madam Toussauds Wax Museum and many more activities.

Travelling Alone

Benefits of Travelling Alone

If you are travelling alone for the first time, you may be a bit nervous. Also, friends and family may ask you questions and look at you a little weird. If you are a woman, they may regale you with horror stories. Worse yet if you actually have a family, but want to take some time off for yourself.

Ironically, though, travelling alone allows you to meet people much more easily than would be possible if you were travelling with friends and family. So although you will be “travelling alone”, you will most likely be a lot less alone than you think. Especially when you are travelling “alone” on singles holidays for over 50s.

Travelling Alone

Flexibility

The great thing, however, is that it is all up to you. When you feel like being alone or doing something that only you are interested in, you don’t have to worry about offending anybody, or meshing with your friend’s or family’s schedule. So many opportunities on vacations are missed because of compromises that have to be made for your travel partners. Not so when you are travelling alone.

Travelling alone allows to more fully enjoy your holiday. You can taste-test whatever you want, without your travel partner crinkling their nose in disgust. You can wander the streets of Madrid at 3 am without your travel partner pouting in annoyance.

Also, trips with friends and families seem to generate some sort of fight all the time. Thankfully, that can’t happen when you are travelling alone.

New You

As corny as it sounds, travelling alone also helps you find yourself. Being in a totally new context brings out unexpected and sometimes “unused” sides of yourself that you can discover, or re-discover. It can be a life-changing experience.

For some people, travelling alone is a great way to find someone new as well, romantically or platonically. Quality relationships in our lives are things that should never be taken for granted. If your current circle of family and friends just aren’t doing it for you, then travelling alone can be a great way to make new lasting friends.

Travelling Alone

Checklist for Travelling Alone

Travelling alone also means that you have to be responsible for all your own things. A good checklist of should include

  • carrying a pocket dictionary or phrasebook with you
  • make copies of all your essential travel documents (passport, health insurance, travel itinerary, tour agent information) to leave behind with someone you trust, in case of an emergency
  • Bring a credit card, along with cash. Make sure to take note of your credit card company’s customer service line in case of loss or theft.
  • Take books, a journal to record your experiences, a camera with extra batteries and an extra memory card, and maps to educate yourself on the layout of the area. These things can make a world of difference.

Tips for Women Travelling Alone

Women travelling alone should also follow some of these guidelines:

  • Make sure you know who will be meeting you at the airport and that arrangements are fully secured beforehand.Be your own best counsel in strange situations. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.
  • Carry good identification, in more than one place.
  • Keep to open and public places, especially at night.
  • Exude confidence and walk purposefully.
  • Avoid appearing like a tourist, walking with maps, guidebooks, and tourist clothes or hairstyles.
  • Don’t wear flashy clothes or jewellery.
  • Tell some white lies so that people don’t know you are alone. When asking for directions, pretend that you are meeting your friend.
  • Don’t let down your guard with very friendly and helpful strangers.

Travelling alone will be a rewarding and extremely enjoyable experience. Live Life to the Fullest!

Single Holidays Over 50

Specialized Single Holidays Over 50

Going with a regular travel and tour agent is probably not the best way you should take your vacation. You need a company that specializes in providing single holidays over 50.

By booking through here, you will not be charged an additional “singles supplement”, either.

Travelling with people around your own age — solo travellers who were also in their 20s in the 1980s — will be great fun. You may not really want to be around other families, or a lot of younger singles whose interests may be far different from your own.

Single Holidays Over 50

By being with others who are also over 50 on single holidays, you won’t be out of place. All too often in other travel groups, solo travellers are seen as somehow “lacking”. There is a bit of awkwardness, and sometimes stupid questions are asked.

That won’t happen when you book specialised single holidays over 50. Instead, you will be surrounded by others who share your zeal for life, joy in discovering new places and meeting new people, who are comfortable with themselves, and share similar life experiences and tastes.

Open to New Experiences

You may be single and open to romance. While these single holidays over 50 are not meant to be dating services, it is not unusual for romances to blossom. The main goal, however, is to provide you with an enjoyable experience.

You may simply want to spend some time alone, rethink where you are in your life, get away from it all and come back with a new perspective. Single holidays are perfect for that.

Maybe you wanted to visit a special place for your whole life and never got a chance to do so before. Now is the best time to fulfill those dreams.

Challenging yourself on a Kenyan Safari, looking at ancient ruins in Macchu Picchu, immersing yourself in bustling Thailand, experiencing the history and romance of Greece and the Mediterranean, crusing down the Nile River and experiencing the wonders of the Pyramids, or having a great time in Las Vegas … whatever you want, there is a singles holiday over 50 for you.

If you have any special needs, let the agent know and they will do their best to accommodate you. If you want to meet your fellow travellers before you go, log in to the special Facebook page.

Take time out, discover the world, re-discover yourself, live life to the fullest! Enjoy your single holidays over 50. Click on the links to find the right package for you.

The booking deadlines for the great singles holidays featured on the right are almost here, so make sure you book now to secure your place.
